John Ellis Ownbey, b. Sept. 9, 1897 in Davenport, Va. and died May 26, 1973 in Grundy, Va.  He married Lucy Ellen Ownbey (daughter of David Wilson Turner and Abigail Presley), b. May 8, 1899 in Davenport, Va. and died Mar. 25, 1985 in Richlands, Va.  They were both buried in Bristol, Virginia.  John Ellis Ownbey and Lucy Ellen Turner were the parents of the following children:

Ralph Ownbey, b. Feb. 28, 1918, Davenport, Va., d. Oct. 10, 1989, Bristol, Va.  Married Margaret Elizabeth Gray.
Chloe Rema Ownbey, b. Aug. 29, 1920, Davenport, Va., d. Sept. 11, 1993, Oakwood, Va.  Married Marvin Keen.
Willie David Ownbey, b. Aug. 18, 1922, Davenport, Va.,  Married Lula Fletcher.
